​My Name is Fred Itveldt. I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. In addition, I have advanced certification in addictions nursing. I have been working in the mental health field for 30 years. I specialize in a variety of mental health conditions including: mood disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety disorders and OCD.  Mr. Itveldt also specializes in addiction medications. He can also make referrals for various forms of long term treatment and support
In addition to medication management supportive therapy and motivational skills are utilized.
I look forward in assisting you with achieving  your goals.

Mental Health Services

Mental Health Treatment & Assessments
Each initial appointment will consist of a Thorough Psychiatric and/or Addiction evaluation. The initial appointment generally takes 1- 1 1/2 hours. Following this assessment, A follow up appointment will  be scheduled based on the clients needs and well being

Medication Management

Mr. Itveldt has an excellent and up to date knowledge base of psychiatric and addiction medications. He will Only recommend medications when necessary. Medication options will be discussed during the initial appointment. In addition, follow up appointments will be made in order to assess the efficacy of the medications.

Spravato Nasal Spray

Psychiatric And Addiction Services office  is a designated Spravato clinic.

Spravato is a prescription medicine, used along with an antidepressant taken by mouth to treat:
*Adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD)
* Depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) with suicidal thoughts or actions
* Please note that Spravato is a treatment that can only be given in office (please consult our staff for further details)

Addiction Services

Suboxone

SUBOXONE (buprenorphine and naloxone) Sublingual film (Or tablets) is a prescription medicine used to treat adults who are (dependent on) opioid drugs (either by prescription or illegal) as part of a complete program that also includes counseling and behavioral therapy.
Suboxone is a partial opioid agonist, meaning it blocks opioid receptors in your brain. Suboxone helps you manage and control your withdrawal symptoms and urges.

Vivitrol

Vivitrol is the brand name for naltrexone and is an opioid blocker that is a monthly injection, administered by a healthcare provider or pharmacy. Vivitrol was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2006 to prevent the relapse in those recovering from an alcohol use disorder. In addition it is also approved for opioid use disorder. Naltrexone minimizes the cravings for alcohol differently than other types of alcohol prevention medications. In terms of opiate cravings, Vivitrol substantially reduced opiate cravings.

(The Sinclair Method)

The Sinclair Method for Alcohol Use Disorders is an evidenced based treatment for problematic drinking developed by Dr. John D. Sinclair. Naltrexone is the heart of the Sinclair Method (TSM) for Alcoholism. When someone takes Naltrexone 1 hour prior to drinking alcohol, it blocks specific chemicals in the brain. As a result the person eventually reduces the desire for alcohol.
The ultimate goal for this method is abstinence
